Hi, I'm Emmarose!

Hi, I'm Emmarose!

I’m a queer sex therapist offering unapologetically affirming care for individuals and relationships that don’t fit into society’s “traditional” mold. I work with clients who want depth, honesty, and real change without having to shrink any part of themselves. I also specialize in working with anxiety, ADHD, and autism, offering neurodivergent-affirming care that honors sensory needs the unique ways you experience the world.

Whether you’re looking to reignite the spark in your relationship, explore your sexuality, or embrace your true self unapologetically, I’m here to create a space where all parts of you are celebrated. This includes supporting clients navigating anxiety, burnout, masking, or executive dysfunction—especially as they show up in relationships, intimacy, and self-understanding.

In therapy, I’m a direct communicator. I believe honesty and clarity are essential for growth, and I’m not afraid to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone. As a proud queer woman, I know how important it is to feel seen and understood in therapy. I approach my work with curiosity and a good dose of humor because healing doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time.

Radically Real Therapy

My clinical specialties reflect the depth and expansiveness of queer relationships.

  • I work with individuals and partners navigating non-monogamy in all its forms — whether you’re questioning, opening up, or already deeply embedded in polyamorous or expansive relationship styles. Together, we unpack communication, boundaries, jealousy, attachment, and power without defaulting to heteronormative, patriarchal assumptions or shame. My approach affirms relationship anarchy — the idea that deserve to build connection that actually reflect your values, your community and the way you love authentically.

  • Self-esteem shapes how you show up in your relationships—what you tolerate, what you ask for, and how safe it feels to be fully seen. I work with clients to untangle self-worth from validation, challenge internalized narratives, and build a more grounded sense of confidence within connection. Together, we focus on helping you trust your needs, set boundaries without guilt, and engage in relationships from a place of security rather than fear or self-doubt.

  • I help queer clients heal their inner child by addressing past wounds, unmet needs, and childhood experiences that shape self-esteem, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. Together, we use trauma-informed techniques, experiential therapy, and reflective exercises to nurture your younger self, release shame, and build confidence and self-compassion. This work supports emotional growth, healing from anxiety or depression, strengthening relationships, and reclaiming joy—helping you show up as your full, authentic self in love, sex, and life

  • I work with LGBTQ+ clients to navigate sexuality and dating in ways that fully honor their gender, affirm their sexual desires, and celebrate their authentic selves. Together, we explore coming out, embracing your identity, and immersing yourself confidently in queer spaces—whether that’s a farmers market, a gay club, or a quiet coffee shop with chosen family. Some areas we can explore are expressing your gender, engaging in affirming sexual experiences, decentering heteronormative expectations, and building connection on your own terms.

  • I work with clients to explore alternative erotic interests, including BDSM, kink, and fetish play, in ways that are safe, consensual, and affirming. Some of the kinks and fetishes I have studied and supported clients through include doll play, adult baby/diaper lover dynamics, age play, consensual nonconsent, leather, Shibari, electric play, and more. Together, we navigate desire, boundaries, communication, and consent, helping you understand what excites you, express it confidently, and integrate it into your relationships in ways that honor your pleasure, identity, and values.

  • I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, autism, and ADHD with a compassionate, affirming, and neurodiversity-informed approach. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by racing thoughts, struggling with burnout, or trying to make sense of how your brain works in a world that wasn’t designed for it, our work together will center your lived experience—not pathologize it. Using an integrative, systemic lens, I draw from approaches like parts work (also known as IFS) to help you explore the different aspects of yourself—especially the ones shaped by shame, self-criticism, or years of feeling “too much” or “not enough.” Together, we’ll build practical tools for emotional regulation, unmasking, and self-understanding, while also creating space for deeper healing.

I am an integrative systemic therapist, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. I particularly enjoy using narrative therapy to help you untangle and release stories that no longer serve you, as well as parts work (formally known as Internal Family Systems) to explore different aspects of yourself and allow even conflicting parts to be in conversation with one another. This process can support inner child healing and foster greater self-understanding.

My clinical specialties reflect the depth, complexity and expansiveness of queer relationships.

Meet Emmarose

I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy with a specialization in Sex Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. Along with my private practice, I also provide therapy at the Philadelphia Institute of Individual, Relational, and Sex Therapy (PhIIRST). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to my formal training, I worked at a Women’s Resource Center for three years, during which I also ran a local nonprofit focused on reproductive justice. These experiences, alongside my clinical education, have grounded me in both rigorous therapeutic practice and a deep commitment to inclusive, affirming care—particularly in the areas of relationships, sexuality, and identity.

I recognize that a therapist’s social location can be an important part of the therapeutic relationship for some clients. In the spirit of transparency and alignment, I’m happy to openly share that I identify as a lesbian, autistic, and polyamorous.

Outside of my clinical work, I’m someone who feels most at home in the rhythm of city life. I love spending my free time going to stand-up, improv, and burlesque shows, or wandering through Philadelphia’s river trails with an iced vanilla latte in hand and a comedy podcast playing in my headphones.

Let’s get started!

I’m so glad you’re here. I look forward to reading your message and will reach out within two business days to schedule a free 15-minute initial consultation.
